Happy Thursday my gems! Easter is almost here so this week I decided to show two very special pieces, with two very unique gemstones.

The first one is this beautiful indigo quartz statement ring. The indigo stone is surrounded by complementing diamonds and hand-set in 18kt yellow gold.

Indigo quartz is one of the lesser known and rarest forms of quartz, so to see it in a big cabochon like this is very special. It ranges in color from dark to light purple, and are only found in very areas in the world. They represent the inner mind while symbolizing tranquility and inner peace.

The next piece is the statement ring above, which is made of beautiful rose quartz, also surrounded by diamonds and set in 18kt yellow gold. Rose quartz is known as the love stone, and said to add more sparkle to your marriage. When worn, the wearer feels an increase their self worth, as well as gentle vibrations of love.

I always try to use special gems when working on my creations. Rose quartz is very desirable in the mineral kingdom because its color is so unique. It also has many healing properties, and the Ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians used rose quartz to help guard against aging. They even infused water with it to wash their faces and avoid wrinkles. Like I said before, it is the stone of love and beauty, so it gives inner peace in all matter pertaining to romance.

Both these rings are perfect for spring. Wearing quartz jewelry is known to bring very positive vibrations, and these rings are so much fun they lend themselves to ever occasion imaginable. Since they come in two shades, they also complement any style and any lucky woman who is fortunate enough to have something like these beautiful rings in their collection.

I have to admit these are some of my favorite new pieces. Don't they look just like candy? I wish I found one of these beauties inside my Easter basket. Who knows, maybe you will! I hope you have a happy Easter and Passover holiday with your loved ones.

Identified with the qualities of beauty honesty and happiness, March's birthstone, the aquamarine, is a joyful gem to work with. It is especially fantastic for the spring because it's lightness lends itself to very airy and delicate designs.

Aquamarine is naturally found in Brazil, Pakistan and the United States. It is a blue green or aqua variety of the mineral beryl, which includes also emeralds, morganite and heliodor. The most desirable color is a deep blue aqua color, although it ranges from colorless pale blue to deep blue-green or teal. It is commonly associated with the Zodiac sign of Scorpio, and is mentioned historically as long ago as the Bible.

The hardness of the aquamarine makes it an ideal gem to work with, and its light blue color is perfect for when the harshness of some other gems (I wont name names LOL) would otherwise distract from the piece that I am designing. It is very much so a delicate, feminine gem, and you can see in the exquisite piece below, I love working with it for high fashion pieces.

Aquamarine is not only the modern birthstone for march. It is also the traditional gift for 16th and 19th wedding anniversaries. Since early times, it was believe that this gem could protect travelers, endow the wearer with foresight, increase intelligence and make one youthful. As a healing stone, it is used in the treatment of anxiety, and was once believed (in the Middle ages; don't try this a home people) to reduce the effect of poisons.

I used to be that sailors wore aquamarines to keep them sane and prevent sea sickness. That's all very well, but like I said, I love working with aquamarine because it does lend itself to very glamorous and traditionally feminine, yet sexy pieces. Earlier int he week I showed you my ladies in red Claudia Molina and Andreina Santander, so today I want to show you my remaining Premio Lo Nuestro beauties: Karol Rosa and Julie Ferretti.

First off is the wonderful Julie Ferreti, who wore a lovely gown by the amazing Rosita Hurtado. I love working with Rosita, and this is not the first time we have made magic on the red carpet. When I first saw the peachy lace gown, I was tempted to go with coral jewels but I figured that it would be too safe, and that the clean-cut, modern dress needed something that would pop. I went with the watermelon tourmaline Electra drop style earrings, and the result on the red carpet was spectacular.

I love these Electra earrings very much, and was super pleased when I saw Julie looking so amazing in them. Watermelon tourmaline is an amazing gem. It contains both the masculine and feminine rays living together harmoniously in one stone. It is the perfect choice for helping us to achieve the same within ourselves. It is also a fabulous choice for jewelry design because the unique two tone quality picks up the light beautifully.

These Electra earrings are a high drama piece, a true creation of haute jewelry. They are also are the perfect addition to any jewelry box, complementing the well dressed woman's fantastic wardrobe. Their design lends itself to special occasions, yet they are, if carried with enough confidence, just as fabulous worn with a trendy top and sexy skinny jeans.

The next at Premio Lo Nuestro was the black onyx and pink sapphire pieces worn by singer Karol Rosa. These earrings and ring are from my Wanderlust collection and have been popular since I first showed them at the Gary Nader Fine Art gallery.

For the 25th anniversary of Premio Lo Nuestro, Karol wore a gorgeous animal print and fuchsia gown from Haus Fashion Lab, and was styled by my good friend Emilio Uribe. These exotic pieces were the perfect touch for the dress which was nothing short of spectacular. Unlike Julie's look above, we went for something that matched perfectly since the print of her dress was very busy. Here is a close up.

Karol looked radiant on the red carpet, and she exuded confidence. When we saw her take her walk, Emilio and I were very pleased and could not wait to see what the fans and critics thought. We didn't have to wait very long because our social media was blowing up that night. Here is another full length shot of Karol looking gorgeous.

Premio Lo Nuestro was amazing this year, and we had a lo of fun talking red carpets and working with all the amazing people we get to work with for these events. Hope you enjoyed my behind the scenes coverage. Now, I'll see you at the next red carpet.
