Style Icon: Jackie O

One of the most stylish women ever, Jackie O's look is often imitated, but never matched. Synonymous with pearls and classic elegance, the former First Lady chose smart, classic pieces. But Jackie was no wallflower, her simple pieces were always beautifully made and discreetly ornate.

Stunning citrine, champagne diamond, tsavorite, and diamond
earrings, handcrafted in 18kt white gold
Jackie O loved big statement rings such as the one pictured below. She had exquisite taste and never missed a fashionable beat. Eve though she had a position of power, she always looked down to earth. Even in the most expensive clothes, her inner beauty and gracious personality always shone through, making her the focus, not her fashions or jewels.

Jackie's signature pearls were are powerful an image as her pink Channel suit and her pillbox hat. She wore them on her wedding day, and to many other important events in her public and private life. With an air of ladylike formality and youthful grace, Jackie O still inspires women every day.

Like the first lady herself, this piece is a natural beauty.

One of the most dignified public figures of the twentieth century, Jackie O has been a muse to many jewelry (not to mention fashion) designers. Her clean and straightforward style is always on my mind when I am working, especially with pearls. No one wore pearls like her. As a matter of fact before Jackie, pearls were the ugly duckling of jewelry. Good only for church or grandma. It was she that paved the way for their extended use in jewelry design, and made them the modern accessories they are today.
