Having been a fashion icon for at least a decade, Gwyneth Paltrow has perfected her chic brand of American sensibility with a dash of European sophistication. Since she wore her Ralph Lauren pink Oscar dress, Paltrow catapulted into fashion mega stardom and has never looked back. I have always admired her for taking risks, but now I'm very into her jewelry choices. Let's take a look at Gwyneth's influential style, shall we?
Simultaneously classic and cutting edge, Paltrow first broke into the fashion scene in the aforementioned pink ball gown she wore when she won the best actress Oscar in 1999. Although her jewelry choice looks somewhat dated, they were very chic for the time. In the nineties everybody was doing chokers, so naturally she wore a diamond one for the ceremony. Her jewels that night were by legendary jeweler Harry Winston. What happens next is fashion history.
After singlehandedly bringing back the color pink, and wearing what became the number one selling prom dress that year, Gwyneth became an overnight fashion star. Everyone was waiting to see what she would wear next. Luckily for us she delivered, wearing gorgeous dress after gorgeous dress. Here she is in another memorable design by her late friend Alexander McQueen
Here she is at two different premiers for her movie Country Strong in 2010, showing us you can be chic in either white or black. Here she is in a sexy long and lean dress by Emilio Pucci in Los Angeles.
And here she is in a little black dress in New York in Ralph Rucci, with fabulous shoes by one of my faves, Lanvin.
Her best year so far has ben 2011 when she wore dress after gorgeous dress, each time with the most perfect jewelry choices.
At the 2011 Oscars in Calvin Klein, Paltrow’s interesting jewelry accessories included a floral inspired set of diamond earrings and diamond matching brooch containing a dazzling array of colored stones against yellow gold. These pieces paired well with her metallic gown. The jewelry made the look that evening.
At the Bambi Awards, she chose Ellie Saab and was adorned with a striking diamond choker by distinguished jewelers Adler, and a magnificent ‘Porcupine’ statement cocktail ring by Annoushka. The show-stopping ring is crafted from 18ct white gold with a sleek black rhodium finish and is generously smothered in over 16 carats of upside down diamonds.
I love these type of statement rings and have been designing them in my collections for years.
Here she is again in Emilio Pucci, a vary daring choice given the fact that it had many critics. Here she accessorized the sheer Pucci dress with a 50 carat diamond platinum wide bracelet, a 50 carat black diamond and black rhodium link bracelet, a 5 carat diamond and black onyx platinum right hand ring (not pictured) and a pair of emerald cut black diamond platinum dangle earrings. All from the great Neil Lane.
Gwyneth was the first to wear this type of big link bracelet. I love these too and have included them my collection with a slight variation in its design and in different colors and gems. Check out my version in rose gold and pink sapphires...
Making pink look all grown up, here she is in what I think is an homage to that Ralph Lauren Oscar dress that made her a fashion star. This time it was the Venice Film Festival and the designer was Prada. The result was just as spectacular, if not more so.
Look at the diamond chandelier earrings here; they are fabulous...
Last year was also a great year for Paltrow. She was not on the red carpet as much, but when she was she made it count. Here she is at the 2012 Grammys in Stella McCartney.
Here again in Stella Mc Cartney at the Tony Awards...
The dresses above are great, but it really is her jewelry choices that made me a super fan...love these earrings by Asian designer Anna Hu she wore to the Met Gala last year. Her fab dress was by Prada.
Hu Also designed what is Gwyneth's jewelry at the 2012 Oscars, her best jewelry and overall look to date. In her gorgeous white dress by Tom Ford, Paltrow brought back the cape making it modern and fresh. Only she could pull it of.
The icing on the cake however was her jewelry. I mean look at this cuff by Anna Hu. To. Die. For. And the ring is not bad either.
Gwyneth Paltrow's style is admired by many, and recognized by all the fashionistas and magazine editors. She is known for mixing great pieces and practical styles with ultra glam accessories. Her taste in jewelry is also legendary, with Italian jewelry house even picking her for their 2008 campaign. Is there anything that she can't do?
Love Always
