Behind the Scenes: Strategy Mag Shoot

Last week Strategy Magazine's Mavian Arrocha-Rowe invited me to be a part of the editorial shoot for their upcoming July/August issue along with one of my favorite Miami celebs, top chef Ana Quincoces.  If that wasn't a dream already, I also got to work with the always lovely Romina Nabhen, the super talented stylist and fashion expert.

Getting ready for the photo shoot with Ana
Strategy Magazine is a fantastic business and lifestyle publication led by Editor-In-Chief Arrocha-Rowe. Full of inspiring and useful articles that bring a fresh perspective to business and life, this magazine really fills a gap that had been missing in the publishing world. The themes are broad, and include subjects such a personal finance, beauty, and in this case the wonderful world of food, style and books.

Working with someone as talented as Romina was truly inspirational. She always has a great point of view to dispense, and great fashion advice to bestow. She really does live out her philosophy of enhancing one's lifestyle. Rarely did she not have a smile on her face or a quirky quote to make us laugh.

Part of the shoot was to focus on our books. Inspired by the lack of authentic Cuban cookbooks, Ana's first publication was Cuban Chicks Can Cook, and it was an instant hit. Her second cookbook Sabor! A Passion for Cuban Cuisine is the continuation of her homeland's culinary legacy, one she hopes to leave to her daughters.

I can't really reveal too many details, you will have to wait till July's issue for that, but as you can see we had an amazing afternoon full of strong, independent women, sharing our passions and our stories. Ana and I, all had our books to contribute, and Mavi and Romina were all laughter and horsing around. Lucky for us,  I also had my jewelry on hand for them to sample. It really was an awesome time.

Thanks again to all the girls at Strategy, especially to Mavi, and of course to Ana and Romina. I can't wait to see the end results!

Love Always
Dani K
