2012 Emmy's: All About Earrings

Picture after picture after bare-necked picture, it seems like all the ladies of the 2012 Emmy's left their necklaces and chokers at home.  The big trend on the red carpet last night was, however, beautiful earrings, sometimes with matching bracelets or rings and sometimes not, so we are going to focus on the positive and examine the most beautiful, while showing you at the same time how to get a similar look without having to be Hollywood royalty.

First up the is the perennially gorgeous Heidi Klum in beautiful earrings by celebrity favorite Lorraine Schwartz. The earrings complement the dress perfectly and are on trend with fall's monochromatic style.

For a similar look you could try these earrings from my Wanderlust collection

Turquoise and coral come together beautifully in these
mega gorgeous drop earrings.  Shiny diamonds finish off the look.

Next is the queen of big earrings Sofia Vergara. She is a huge fan of statement earrings and is never seen without them, on or off the red carpet.  She has said in interviews before that they take people's minds of her wrinkles. Whatever! The woman is gorgeous!

Even though she went home empty handed, she is still a winner in my book. she was radiant last night.  Sofia also wore a set of beautiful bracelets and cuff totalling 172 carats worth of shiny white diamonds.  Now that's a girl after my own heart.

her art deco inspired look by Neil Lane can be easily achieved by selecting pieces like these....

One of my favorite funny ladies is Julie Bowen.  She is so entertaining and really knows how to translate her comedic side to her red carpet style.   Wearing yellow, the color of the evening, Julie look stunning and comfortable in her own skin.  Her earrings were gorgeous.

Her oversized yellow sapphire and diamond Bochic earrings are called fire earrings, and the name is very fitting.  Yellow sapphire is the hottest thing in jewelry for fall.  If you like this look, here are my yellow sapphire hoops.

A hoop for all seasons:

And since we are on the subject of mellow yellow, here is Leslie Mann in her take on the trend.

She matched her white and yellow Neem Kahn gown with fabulous turquoise earrings and bracelet by Lorraine Schwartz. I love this look because it's very playful. For  similar effect you can go with these earrings. Flower Power!

Another gal in yellow last night was winner Julianne Moore. Bracing the heat in this Christian Dior Couture creation, Julianne went sleek and simple by choosing only an understated pair of earrings and a gorgeous diamond cuff by Fred Leighton.

For simple champagne diamond sparklers like Julianne's these flower earrings would do the trick.

A classic beauty, Julianna Marguelies (from The Good Wife) always knows how to look regal on the red carpet. Last night however she was especially grand in this fabulous earrings that complemented her floral Giambatista Valli dress beautifully.

Her vintage inspired earrings are from Fred Leighton and they are just fabulous. For a similar feel, I would go for something very classic like these ruby earrings...

All these women looked gorgeous, but the night belonged to "Revenge's" Emily Van Camp.  Her look was not only super original, it was also very appropriate for a young girl.  Her choice of gown by J. Mendel was stunning, and that love knot bracelet was to die for.  Unlike some of the ladies on the red carpet, her look seemed complete.  She had fabulous diamond earrings, a beautiful ring and a unique bracelet. She wore the jewels not the other way around.  Take a look:

Now that is what I call a haute look.  Never over the top, and always chic and fashionable.  If I were to try to emulate this with jewels from my collection I would go with the following earrings.

What do you think of this year's Emmy's? Was the red carpet boring or blingin'? Leave me a comment or send me an email.  Hope you liked my selections.   See you after the next awards show.
