All designers have inspirations, influences or muses.  One of my all time jewelry and beauty icons is the wonderful actress and humanitarian, Elizabeth Taylor.  Timeless, classic and elegant, Dame Elizabeth inspired many of my designs such as these, for example.

Last week, I read in the New York Times last week that her estate is going to be auctioned off by Christie's.  According to People magazine the auction house is assembling her museum-quality collection of jewelry and art to get it ready for an international tour in September.  The tour will end in December, with New York being the last stop.  During her life Dame Elizabeth collected some mayor bling, so I wanted to share some pictures of the Icon and her amazing jewels through the years.












Proving that Dame Elizabeth was not only a true beauty and an icon, a portion of the proceeds of the auction will be donated to her charity the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, which she started in 1993.  What an amazing woman and what fabulous jewels!  Hope the tour comes to Miami this year, because this is an event not to be missed.
